Nekkid!

Ana over at Simple Nail Art Tips posed a challenge and had an awesome sale while she was at it: go naked for 3 days and follow the directions for happy, healthy nails.

I decided to join. Why? Eh, my nails had already been naked and I know how good people say cuticle oil is lol. You should probably note that I absolutely abhor cuticle oil and I'm terrible at nail care and maintenance usually.

Before:

Overall not terrible right? I mean honestly they could look a lot worse. Especially when you consider I don't do any kind of nail/cuticle care.

The directions to follow are basically to apply Pure cuticle oil to the nails as often as they need for 3 days. At first they should soak it up really quick. In the starter pack you get 1 2ml nail oil pen and 1 15ml bottle of cuticle oil for $24 (US). Believe me when I say it is totally worth it! It smells great and feels great and doesn't stay all oily for super long. It works! Don't believe me? Proof:

Keep in mind that I am pretty much incapable of focusing on anything for days at a time lol. I probably followed the directions and applied the oil like I should for, um, maybe a day? A day and a half at the most. I tried though! The point is this would have worked even better if I had. I could feel a HUGE difference. And once the challenge days were over I was dying to wear polish again! And I needed to do some swatching. I could definitely tell how drying that process was. The only other nail anything I did during that time was file

Great things about Pure:
All natural
Great Smell
Nice texture, not super oily/greasy feeling
It works!

Cotton and Rock Candy Nails!

Oh look at me, back so soon! Haha, kidding! I never left ;)

Ok, all joking aside lol...nails then talky talky.

For some reason the OPI Liquid Sand (Get Your Number) reminds me of rock candy. Anywho, I did this with flocking powder which I got at Micheal's of course. 2 coats of the polish. This was the first time I used flocking powder and I really like it! Not much else to say about it. Have you done fuzzy nails yet?

My New Babies

Hi guys! I'm still behind but I promise to work on it!

If you don't hang out around my Facebook page then you might not know that I have a thing for reptiles. Particularly lizards, though I seriously would love a huge kick ass snake lol. In the last couple weeks I got 2 new babies.

Can you tell the difference between the two? The smaller one is named Shui Long and the bigger one is named Marley. They have slight difference besides their size but it's pretty easy for me to tell them apart. Samantha (waves at Sammy) helped pick the name Shui Long which she tells me is Mandarin for "water dragon". I like it! And I love these babies! They can get up to 3 feet long or bigger depending on environment and gender. They can live up to 15 years if properly cared for.

I also have a 5 lined skink that I caught at work, if you haven't seen him yet:

What kind of pets do you have?

Must Wear All The Blues!

Hey lovelies!

I have done a ton of polish buying over the past couple months or so and a lot of those were blues. Well I was sitting at work one night thinking about what to do with my nails when I got a crazy idea. Why not wear them all? Heck why not throw on the feathers I had too? So this is what I ended up with:

L-R Zoya Charla, feather over  NOPI Deck The Dolls, OPI Get Your Number
and Zoya Song
L-R Pure Ice Blue Midnight, NOPI A Lit-Teal Bit of Love,
feather over NYC Empire State Blue and Zoya Robin with
Ice Tinsel Town over it
The feathers weren't as bad to work with as I thought they would be. I do know that I love the Liquid Sand!

The thumb is Pure Ice Peep Show with NOPI Kendall on the Katwalk over  it.
Thumb on this hand is NOPI It's Up to You with Orly Spazmatic over it.
So what do you think? Have you ever done a completely mismatched kind of mani like this? I liked it but it was just way too much for me!

As always, thanks for stopping by :)
